Translation Specialist

Position Summary:
The Translation Specialist will be responsible for translating both verbal and written communications between Chinese Mandarin and English.  They will work with a variety of individuals including, but not limited to, company President, onsite employees, international corporate office, project teams, vendors, etc. Most of the translation will be verbal during meetings from Mandarin to English and vice versa.

Position Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree in science or technical related degree required.
• 2-5 years of experience in professional translation/interpretation, ideally within a biotech or chemical manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Strong professionalism and upbeat personality with adherence to confidentiality required.
• Understanding of American and Chinese culture strongly preferred.

• Provide live and consecutive translation and interpretation of English to Chinese Mandarin and vice versa during meetings, tours, audits, and project discussions involving company president, engineers, scientists, and operations.
• Translation of written materials from English to Chinese and vice versa
• Assist with preparation of bilingual communications and presentations
• Ensure accuracy and clarity in the translation of technical requirements, project timelines, and deliverables.
• Maintain working knowledge of production process and technical terminology related to industry
• Bridge cultural nuances to foster mutual understanding and effective team collaboration

• Base work schedule is Monday thru Friday, onsite during day hours with overtime as needed for business necessity.

• Salaried wage is based on education and experience with starting wage up to $75,000 annually.

Quality Requirements (for food production safety):
Minimal facial hair, minimal makeup, no jewelry, false fingernails, nail polish, hair extensions, wigs, toupees, cologne or perfume. Long hair must be tied up for safety reasons when in the plant. Facility is a non-smoking, non-tobacco facility.
